Midnight. Pitch dark except for the light of a full moon.
I am standing waist deep in the ocean holding hands with Adi Da (Adi Da means The Divine Giver”).
About 100 yards offshore is a huge reef. Immense and powerful waves are crashing into the reef with great force. They are barely visible in the light of the full moon.
But Adi Da and I simply observe the waves. We stand waist-deep in tremendous peace. The peace is sacred. Beyond all words. Like holding hands with God at midnight, while standing in the ocean in what feels like the eye of a hurricane.

Today I resolve to touch in and stay centered in peace and gratitude amidst all the turbulent and powerful waves that touch my life. That even while “I” may be tossed about and rocked by the waves, there is a greater “I” that is untouched by everything and in a simple peaceful awareness that feels like love and gratitude.
“I” may be bounced back and forth and up and down by the waves of life, and yet the greater “I” is there as well – in a state of immense peace and gratitude for the experience. Maybe just being, being aware, experiencing, being conscious – maybe this is the greatest gift of all.
