Leap and Learn

For over a decade I’ve had brand new books appear to me in dreams that had strange and compelling titles and covers. The books would make me feel warm and happy and inspired just thinking about them.

I wanted to purchase these books and looked everywhere but could not find them. I wanted to write them but where would I begin? I had not written any books before and writing brand new books that were inspiring and compelling to me was exciting, but the titles seemed so far beyond me. Some examples:

UNMISTAKABLE LIFE

SURRENDER TO FREEDOM

THE TRUE

BEYOND OZ

THE PILLAR OF MY IDENTITY

And a whole lot more!

Recently I saw another book in my dreams entitled CLEANING UP THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF MAN. Again, I could not find it anywhere.

But this time I very much wanted to write this book.

So, I did.

I leaped.

I assumed and hoped I would figure it out as I went along. Sorta like channeling a new book and not knowing what would come out of your mouth. LOL!

I began by seeding my dreams – I wanted dreams to help support me, to infuse me and to guide me in writing this book. I wanted to connect deeply to the book itself – before it was even written – as if it were already completed. Dreams, for me, seem to be a bridge between “me” and incredible wisdom and I treasure them.

And in just the last couple of weeks my dreams have been so helpful!

I set an intention. “I am writing the book CLEANING UP THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF MAN”.

And right out of the gate my dreams were trying to teach me something about how consciousness gets cleaned up.

The first night I had a dream where people everywhere were walking around with big bowls of popcorn on their heads. Many decades ago, my first spiritual teacher, Dr. William Brugh Joy, M.D., used to say that most of us, most of the time are in “popcorn consciousness” – that we watch movies and indeed watch and interact with all of life from the same old point of view almost all the time. We eat our popcorn unconsciously and watch everything unconsciously through the same filters and same lenses over and over again.

Next night – a wise old man appears in my dream and speaks to me telepathically and asks if it is OK with me that he clean up my backyard. I say “yes”. Then he comes the next day and asks if he can clean up my front yard. Again, I agree.

Next dream…I’m with my old CEO from long ago and we are at a big gathering with hundreds of people. He is trying to teach me to be in “pleasure” no matter where I am or what I am doing. He would ask me to say things to myself like “I am in a pleasurable venue”, etc. He was teaching me to find ways to always be in a state of pleasure.

Next dream – spiritual teacher Matt Kahn is now my personal housecleaner. He has torn apart the family couch and is cleaning behind all the cushions and pillows. He is also doing lots of “cleaning” up of old family stuff.

Next dream – I see a woman with a basketball sized mass of old dead leaves all tangled in a mat in her hair on top of her head. I lovingly ask if I can remove the mass of old dead leaves from her hair and she says “yes”. She seems quite happy after I remove the old mat of leaves.

Most recent dream – I am out in Nature and see crystal clear spring water bubbling up through clean gravel from “Source”.

Not everyone gets guidance through dreams. People get guidance in lots of different ways. Dreams just happen to be my go-to for support, wisdom, and guidance. I am so grateful to be able to connect to guidance and wisdom in this way.

What have I learned so far from writing a book on cleaning up consciousness (I’m at 130 pages so far!) and paying attention to my dreams around the book?

The bowls of popcorn on people’s heads and the old mass of dead leaves on the woman’s head seem to imply that our crown chakras (our connection to Source/greater consciousness) are blocked with old thoughts, old identities, old filters, and old beliefs. Remove the old and life is refreshed and renewed. All is nascent once again. Perhaps this is what Jesus meant when he said “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Or maybe by removing all the old leaves and old bowls of popcorn we enter a state the Buddhists would call “Beginner’s Mind”. Imagine going through life 100% connected to Source but with no pre-conceived notions and no old conditioning, old triggers, beliefs, opinions, etc. to block it.

And what if discovering something pleasurable about no matter where you are or what you are doing helps keep the connection to Source open. Getting mad about where you are or what you are doing probably closes one off to Source. Perhaps, in pleasure, it all is open and available.

Spiritual housecleaning also includes cleaning up a lot of old family stuff. LOL!

And in the end, with all the old stuff cleaned up, removed, and purged, there is just Source – pure consciousness – clean and unblocked in any way.

So far, the book is a work in progress. But I am loving writing a very special book that appeared to me in a dream and by diving in, I am learning so much!

Hoping all of you will at some point in your life take a leap into the unknown that is compelling and inspiring and trust that you will learn, be guided, and supported in perhaps unimaginable ways.

Love to All!
